Emery has been more alert and active with us the last week or so. Perfect timing as Grandma and Grandpa Hayden were staying with us. We were grateful for their stay...there were many meals, repairs, and support that they offered in their week visit. One day we will repay Emery as they did for us...
(Just not to soon...)

This picture reminds me of the Jaba the Hut scene from Star Wars. Look at those chins! I half expected Princess Lea in a bikini to be pictured next to her. Emery is seeming to put on some weight finally. We took her to the pediatrician today and we're glad to say she's gained back her post-delivery weight, coming in at 6 and a quarter pounds.

She did suprisingly well with it. After Mom labored to scientifically get the water to the PERFECT temperature, operation baby wash commenced.
"It's all about me, me, me!!!"
Lots of firsts to be celebrated--here's the conclusion of her first bath. (Apologies to any future siblings now when we skip all firsts until your first birthday.)
Mom and Em wrapping up in a warm blanket after a successful bath session. I couldn't decide which of the two photos I liked more, so I put them both in.
Getting tired after an apparently exhausting bath...
And she's out moments later. Maybe we should try this approach at her next 3am rager.

"Hi. I'm going door to door and selling babies for charity. Would you care to purchase one?"
Grandpa telling Emery about the differences found in phillips and flathead screwdriver...
Emmy and Grammy...we're missing Tony and Oscar before we'd have all the achievements in the entertainment industry covered.
"Dad, I've been meaning to talk to you about this. The other babies on other blogs have been making fun of me because they say I have no neck! Learn how to hold me for crying out loud!"
Mom and Em trying to get caught up on some sleep.
All smiles. Just think how big our smiles will be when she's sleeping through the night.
Here is Emery spending some awake time with Grandma
Although we'd given Em a sponge bath, we weren't able to give her a true bath because the cord was still dangling. Thankfully, that gelatinous mess has now fallen off and Dad doesn't have to be grossed out anymore with cleaning it. We celebrated the end of the cord days with a legitimate bath.
"Hi. I'm going door to door and selling babies for charity. Would you care to purchase one?"
Besos para todos.
